I. Ruginienė: Ukraine must become a full member of the EU by 2030, the process has been too long

During a press conference in Lithuania, the Prime Minister stated Lithuania’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s accession to both the European Union and NATO. She asserted that the establishment of a secure, strong, and unified Europe is contingent upon the inclusion of Ukraine. According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine must become a full member of the EU by the year 2030, noting that the current timeline is too protracted and efforts must be intensified to expedite this integration process.

The Prime Minister also announced that a specific agreement had been reached with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. Furthermore, she confirmed that international pressure against Russia and Belarus will continue to increase. She stressed the necessity of strengthening collaborative efforts among nations to ensure accountability, specifically aiming to bring leaders from Moscow and Minsk to justice for the aggression currently being carried out.

The statements underscore Lithuania’s commitment to bolstering Ukraine’s geopolitical alignment with Western institutions. The emphasis on accelerated membership highlights the strategic importance placed on solidifying Ukraine’s role within European security and economic frameworks. These declarations signal a continued diplomatic push to solidify Ukraine’s path toward full integration, framing it as essential for regional stability.
