A recent basketball event was held to commemorate the achievements of the 1997 European Champions. The gathering brought together the entire roster of the celebrated 1997 Lithuanian national team, including Lina Dambrauskaitė, Jurgita Štreimikytė, Jolanta Vilutytė, Dalia Belickaitė Kurtinaitienė, Jovita Jutelytė, Rasa Kreivytė, Reda Aleliūnaitė, Jurgita Kaušaitė, Irena Baranauskaitė, Aneta Kaušaitė, Lina Brazdeikytė, and Rima Petronytė. During the ceremony, the accomplished 1997 squad was formally honored for their historical success.
Furthermore, the current Lithuanian national team received recognition for its ongoing contributions to the sport. The official proceedings were attended by several high-ranking government officials. Speakers and dignitaries present included Juozas Olekas, the Speaker of the Seimas and the guardian of the EuroBasket 2027 in Lithuania.
Also in attendance were Raminta Popovienė, the Minister of Education, Science and Sports; Jūratė Zailskienė, the Minister of Social Security and Labour; and Vaida Aleknavičienė, the Minister of Culture, alongside numerous other distinguished guests. The event served as a significant platform to acknowledge the legacy of past champions while supporting the current generation of Lithuanian basketball talent.
