According to reports cited by RBK-Ukraine, drawing from the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), an individual identified by law enforcement sources as Sergey Ivanovich Kolobov has been detained. While the name was not officially disclosed at the time of the report, the SBU provided details regarding his alleged activities. The allegations suggest that shortly following the temporary annexation of the Crimean peninsula, Kolobov obtained Russian citizenship and subsequently began cooperating with the administration controlling the region.
He was reportedly appointed as the “Minister of Fuel and Energy of the Crimean Republic” by Sergei Aksyonov. The SBU claims that during his tenure, Kolobov played a role in facilitating the transfer of the Crimean peninsula’s strategic energy infrastructure to the controlling administration. The assets implicated in this alleged takeover are extensive.
They include major facilities such as the thermal power plants located in Simferopol and Sevastopol, as well as the Tavria TPP. Furthermore, the scope of the alleged seizure covers the network of solar and wind power plants, critical pipelines, gas compressor stations, and the oil bases and terminals situated in Kerch. These reports detail the alleged mechanisms through which state-level energy resources were managed and controlled following the disputed political changes.
The sbu investigation focuses on the systematic takeover of vital infrastructure across the Crimean territory by individuals associated with the de facto authorities.
