L. Kasčiūnas: TS-LKD will consider initiating a no-confidence procedure in I. Ruginienė in the near future

Opposition Party Voices Concerns Over Government Performance

Riga – At a meeting of the TS-LKD (Union of National Patriots) council on Saturday, party leader L. Kasciunas delivered a critical assessment of the current government’s performance. Kasciunas argued that the administration led by Prime Minister Inga Ryginiene has fostered a period of stagnation and inefficiency within the country.

The criticism centered on several recent events, most notably the coordinated cyber-infiltration targeting key state institutions. These included the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Central Registry, and the Ministry of Health. Kasciunas contends that the government’s response to these attacks was characterized by a lack of professionalism and insufficient public communication.

He asserted that these incidents demonstrate a vulnerability to foreign influence, specifically highlighting the tenure of Prime Minister Ryginiene. The TS-LKD, as the largest opposition party, expressed concerns regarding the current political structure’s capacity to effectively manage national security challenges and assume appropriate political responsibility. The party’s statements reflect a significant disagreement with the government’s approach to governance and crisis management, raising questions about institutional stability and the administration’s ability to address complex national issues.

  1. It appears the internal political tensions within the party are becoming quite pronounced.

  2. What specific grounds or evidence will the TS-LKD use to support a no-confidence vote against Inga Ruginienė?
