A new trend involving the use of underground passages by migrants has been observed entering the territory of the Republic of Lithuania, according to R. Liubajevas, head of the VSAT. Authorities have reported detecting approximately ten such tunnels in Lithuania this year, indicating attempts by migrants to illegally cross the country’s borders.
The standard procedure upon discovery of these illicit tunnels involves deterring or arresting those found within them, followed by the sealing and covering of the passages.
