Near Kaunas LEZ – a surprising find: you don’t want to pass by, but to stop

The revitalization project at Ramučiai Park commenced in 2022 and was executed through three distinct phases of development. The initial phase utilized municipal funding to improve core park infrastructure. Key additions included the installation of walking trails, a dedicated vehicle parking area, and public street lighting.

Furthermore, the park’s pond underwent cleaning to remove accumulated sludge and was subsequently stocked with fish. This first stage also saw the addition of two children’s playgrounds, informative display boards, wooden benches, bicycle racks, and a small repair station, culminating in the installation of a new fountain. The subsequent phase continued the park’s enhancement.

During this period, various amenities were installed to improve public utility and recreation. The final stage involved a collaborative effort between the Kaunas district municipality, the Karmėlavos community center “Židinys,” and local business entrepreneurs. Significant support for this phase came from the Kaunas cogeneration power plant, which provided essential funding, alongside a substantial donation of high-quality timber from “Brother Timber.” This final push resulted in the construction of two pontoon bridges, a dedicated stage area equipped with an amphitheater, and a smart service station.

The overall transformation of the park, located near local residential areas, was bolstered by continuous support from the community members. These improvements have significantly enhanced the recreational space within Kaunas, providing residents with updated facilities for leisure and community gathering.
