Pigu.lt, an e-commerce platform, is expanding its retail reach by establishing a presence in both physical and aerial commerce channels. According to Vytautas Romeika, Marketing Director of Pigu.lt and PHH Group, the company aims to offer customers the convenience of shopping wherever they are located. To facilitate this expansion, the company launched a pilot e-project on June 1, designed to test new avenues for online shopping.
Romeika noted that travel time, such as during flights, presents an ideal opportunity for customers to browse the extensive product selection offered by pigu.lt. The initial three-month pilot has demonstrated positive results, leading the company to plan for the continuation of the initiative beyond the summer period. Furthermore, Pigu.lt is actively engaging with WizzAir airlines regarding similar integration efforts, signaling plans to expand in-air shopping opportunities for its customer base.
Early data from the pilot indicates that customers utilizing the in-air commerce channel spent an average of approximately 38 euros per purchase. This successful trial suggests a significant market opportunity within mobile and travel retail. The move solidifies pigu’s commitment to omnichannel commerce, ensuring that the brand can meet its customers where they are, whether on the ground or while traveling.
