Sad accidents of motorcycles and mopeds: 2 people injured, one driver drunk

Police authorities reported two separate traffic incidents that occurred in Vilnius. The first collision took place around 11:46 a.m. in the Parudaminis district, specifically on Vilnius street within the Marijampolė area.

The accident involved an “MB” vehicle operated by a 43-old woman who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, and a Honda moped driven by a 46-old man. A passenger sustained injuries in this collision. A second incident was reported later, at approximately 11:23 p.m.

This occurred in the Pabradė area of the Švenčionių district. Here, a 53-old man was involved in an accident while operating a “Salmo” motorcycle. Authorities noted that the driver was intoxicated, registering a blood alcohol level of 0.29 prom., and was operating the vehicle without the requisite driving license.

The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and fell onto the roadway. The 40-old passenger in this second accident was injured and transported to a hospital for further examination. In both cases, police have confirmed that official investigations have been initiated to determine the full circumstances surrounding the accidents.

The reports detail multiple violations, including impaired driving and operating vehicles without proper authorization, underscoring the seriousness of traffic safety concerns across different parts of the city over the course of the year.
