The A2 road viaduck is being reconstructed: drivers should be extremely careful – traffic will change

Via Lietuva has announced upcoming modifications to traffic flow on the A2 Vilnius-Panevėžys motorway beginning next week. These changes are necessitated by the planned demolition and subsequent reconstruction of an existing overpass located in the Pavian district of the Ukmergė district municipality. Following an assessment of the structure, it was determined that the current overpass is in poor condition, requiring comprehensive reconstruction.

Given the motorway’s classification and its existing state, the plan involves replacing the main supporting structures with new components designed to meet current normative requirements, thereby ensuring safe and reliable passage for all drivers. The initial phase of the project will involve diverting traffic to the right side of the overpass structure before the demolition work commences. Via Lietuva advises all drivers to pay close attention to temporary traffic organization signage and exercise heightened caution throughout the work period.

The complete dismantling of the overpass is integral to the reconstruction process. These necessary upgrades aim to maintain the functionality and safety standards of the A2 motorway for the traveling public. Drivers are urged to plan for potential delays and follow official instructions to navigate the area safely.
