The elite of light-weight athletics will clash in Palanga: the prestigious “Cosma Cup” competition will take place

Athletes representing Palanga are scheduled to participate in twelve events, with the associated prize fund totaling 30,000 euros. The Lithuanian summer capital will host participants from six different continents. A notable event is the women’s high jump competition, featuring Lithuanian record-holder Rugile Miklyčiūtė.

Miklyčiūtė, who recently set a personal best in Germany in early June, is slated to compete, aiming for a jump of 4.45 meters. The Kaunas athlete has set a goal for this season: achieving the qualifying standard for the European Championships, which is set at 4.6 meters. Miklyčiūtė recently achieved success in other local competitions, including setting another Lithuanian record at the “Vilnius 5000” event.

Furthermore, another athlete, S. Bertašius, established a Lithuanian youth record during the LLAF cup competition. Regarding the “Cosma” club, a participant expressed anticipation for the “Cosma Cup” competition, noting their eagerness to compete for the second time.
