Brazilian authorities rescued Emiliane Tamara Nunes Carvalho, a 24-year-old woman, from an incident involving captivity at her ex-boyfriend’s house. Police found the woman locked in a chain around her neck, with her mouth sealed and tied to a mattress within the residence. It is suspected that she was held against her will for five days.
Family members reported her disappearance five days prior to the rescue. According to police reports, the 24-year-old woman was abducted by her ex-partner, Ailton Rodrigues de Souza, after she left the house to attend a medical appointment on August 17. Separately, police are investigating a separate, disturbing case in Thailand.
Thai officers are currently investigating the discovery of a body belonging to a teenage girl within a suitcase. Following the tracking of A. R.
de Souza’s vehicle, officers gained entry to an abandoned house in the city of Aguas Lindas de Goias. Video footage released by the police documented the process of officers cutting the lock and breaking into the structure. These two incidents represent separate criminal investigations handled by different jurisdictions.
In both cases, law enforcement acted to secure premises and investigate the circumstances surrounding the victims. The rescue of the woman in Brazil involved specialized efforts to free her from confinement within the house.
