The Panevėžys District Court has extended the detention period for J. Sadauskienė, a European champion in bodybuilding and fitness, for a maximum of three months. Concurrently, the detention of V.
Solkanas, a 34-year-old bodybuilder and former Lithuanian weightlifting champion, was also extended for the same duration. According to reports, J. Sadauskienė is currently being held at the Panevėžys prison facility, while her associate is detained in Kaunas prison.
Sadauskienė’s lawyer, V. Sviderskis, has argued that the continued detention constitutes an excessive measure. However, the prosecutor’s office disagrees with this assessment, maintaining that the woman, who is under the prosecutor’s purview, should be released.
The prosecutors asserted that there are sufficient grounds to justify the woman’s continued detention. The legal proceedings are focused on alleged involvement in very serious crimes. The court’s decision to extend the pre-trial detention for both individuals highlights the ongoing nature of the investigation into the alleged offenses.
