A re-session has been organized to ensure that students who were unable to participate in the main examination session for justifiable reasons do not forfeit their opportunity to take required exams and continue their academic studies this year. According to Simonas Šabanovas, director of NŠA, the re-session offers specific provisions for several subjects. Significantly, this year marks the first instance where students who did not pass the second part of the mathematics exam during the main session will have the opportunity to retake it.
Furthermore, the structure remains consistent with previous years, allowing those who failed the second part of the Lithuanian language and literature exam to attempt it again. The re-session framework allows any student who missed the main session exams due to valid circumstances to sit for the necessary assessments. In addition to these subject-specific provisions, students in the fourth grade of the Gymnasium will also be able to take their first state final exams during this re-session period.
These measures are designed to provide a necessary safety net, ensuring academic continuity for all eligible students. The goal of the supplementary session is to mitigate the impact of unforeseen absences or difficulties encountered during the primary examination period. By facilitating these retakes, the educational board aims to confirm that every student has a viable pathway to successfully complete their required coursework and advance with their studies.
