The fourth “Royal Corgi Walk” is scheduled for September 11th in the heart of Riga. Corgis and their owners from across Latvia and neighboring countries are expected to gather for the event, aiming to surpass last year’s record of 198 participants. Following the main walk through central Riga, attendees are invited to the “Royal British Tea Picnic” held in Kronvalda Park.
At this location, the corgi judged for the best attire will be recognized. Beyond the awards, the event offers various activities and competitions for visitors. Attendees can also learn about corgis and responsible pet ownership, receive consultation from professional dog trainers, enjoy live musical performances, and sample specialized English teas served from individual porcelain teapots.
The initial walk was attended by approximately 50 corgis. The previous year’s event drew a crowd of 198 corgis and an estimated 600 people. Organizers anticipate an even larger turnout this year, projecting around 200 corgis participating in the central Riga walk.
The gathering is set to be a community celebration centered around the breed, incorporating a royal atmosphere with the tea picnic element.
