According to Živilė Užtupaitė, head of the department, the emergency response was swift, ensuring the safety of those present during an afternoon event. Užtupaitė reported that the manège was hosting grass tennis matches when a sudden danger prompted immediate action.
She stated that the manège administrator reacted quickly to the situation. The primary concern was the safety of the people attending the event. Consequently, measures were taken to evacuate everyone involved.
Initially, the people were moved into a nearby building before being evacuated from the structure itself. The department confirmed that the emergency response was successful, noting that no injuries were reported among the people. Furthermore, all sports equipment at the site was disconnected as a precautionary measure.
While the immediate danger passed without casualties, the scope of the damage remains under investigation.
