Widespread disruptions to the electricity supply were reported across several Lithuanian districts following severe weather. At noon, power outages were confirmed in the Uckermünde, Ignalina, Trakai, Utena, and Jurbarkas districts. Additionally, some residents in the Šilalė and Šiaulė districts have also experienced loss of power.
An ESO representative, Rasa Juodkienė, provided updates on the scale of the disruption, noting that the number of affected customers was rapidly changing. She stated that the count increased from 2,900 to approximately 4,300 customers whose electricity service was temporarily interrupted. According to Ms.
Juodkienė, the most significant damage to the electrical network was concentrated in the Klaipėda region, with the Vilnius and Alytus districts reporting the highest number of impacted customers. ESO emphasized that the storm caused considerable damage, with one historic estate reportedly destroyed. The company advised the public to exercise caution and to report any visible damage to electrical network installations or broken cables immediately.
Residents are instructed to contact ESO via the short number 1802 or the general help line at 1800. Authorities urge the public to report any issues concerning the power infrastructure to ensure safety while repairs are underway across the affected districts.
