The Vilnius residents voted for the most beautiful flower garden in the capital: the difference in votes was huge

An international commission is scheduled to announce the most beautiful flower garden among the capitals of the Baltic region by the end of July. Vaiva Marozienė, the chief city gardener of Vilnius, noted that the current year’s flower gardens each tell a unique story about the city. She explained that the gardens incorporate diverse themes, reflecting aspects such as Vilnius’s history, local personalities, nature, architecture, and even the color palettes found in the paintings of M.

K. Čiurlionis. Due to this variety, she stated that comparing the gardens is not straightforward.

Marozienė highlighted the artistic depth of the floral displays, noting that some flower gardens feature particularly beautiful blooms that last throughout the summer months. The city also offers options for smaller-scale gardening, including a “sow and let nature do the work” approach and a garden designed for year-long seasonal enjoyment. The effort to curate these floral displays showcases a wide range of artistic and cultural influences within Vilnius.

The intention behind each garden is to offer a distinct visual narrative. The commission’s selection process will ultimately determine which garden is deemed the most remarkable, building upon the diverse artistic representations found throughout the city’s floral showcases.
