The recently completed development constitutes a comprehensive urban regeneration initiative, transforming a historically significant yet underutilized area. This large-scale project encompasses a mix of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, designed to meet the evolving needs of the local community. The scope of the development includes 57 residential apartments, alongside dedicated commercial units on the ground floors, slated to accommodate approximately 12 different businesses.
Furthermore, the plan incorporates extensive recreational facilities intended to enhance the quality of life for incoming residents. An estimated population of up to 200 individuals are expected to move into the new housing units. According to Viktor Zubrekov, deputy director of the company, the initiative served a crucial function in revitalizing the historical center.
Previously, this area faced challenges with vacancy and difficulty adapting to modern civic needs. The redevelopment addressed these issues by creating a modern living environment complemented by new public amenities and increased green areas. A key feature of the revitalization effort will be the forthcoming opening of a landscaped public square.
This square is designed to function as a vital new connection point, linking A. Strazdelis street with M. Daukšos street, thereby improving pedestrian flow and public access within the neighborhood.
Zubrekov confirmed that the overall budget for the entire undertaking remained within the parameters of the initially planned investments, signaling a successful execution of the ambitious urban renewal project.
