A recent survey detailing summer travel plans in Lithuania revealed varied spending projections for the upcoming vacation season. According to the findings, the largest group of respondents indicated plans to spend between 500 and 1,000 euros for their vacation. Nearly a quarter (23%) of participants anticipate spending in the 200 to 500 euros range.
Smaller proportions plan to spend between 1,000 and 2,000 euros (14%), while only 4% expect to spend over 2,000 euros. Furthermore, the survey indicated that one in ten Lithuanians have not yet established a budget for their summer vacation, and an equal proportion reported no plans for a vacation at all. She suggested that individuals should aim to allocate approximately 5–10% of their annual income toward vacation savings. Ivaška cautioned against treating vacation spending as a spontaneous purchase that necessitates restructuring a monthly budget.
Instead, she recommended that such funds be utilized strategically to improve overall financial stability rather than being spent immediately. These insights suggest a focus on careful budgeting when planning how much to spend on one’s summer getaway.
