Preliminary results in Armenia: the ruling party of the Prime Minister won the elections

N. Pašinianas has stated his political objective for Armenia involves reducing the republic’s reliance on Moscow while simultaneously fostering closer diplomatic and economic ties with Western nations. These stated goals followed the announcement of the final election results across all polling stations.

According to the Central Election Commission, Pašinianas’s “Civil Contract” party secured 49.8% of the votes, allowing it to decisively surpass the vote count of Samvel Karapetyan’s “Strong Armenia” alliance, which garnered 23.3%. The official results confirmed the electoral standing of the major political blocs. The two other opposition groups—Robert Kocharian’s “Armenia” alliance and the “Better Armenia” party—both successfully cleared the established parliamentary threshold.

The “Armenia” alliance received 9.9% of the votes, while the “Better Armenia” party obtained 4%. Overall voter turnout for the election was reported by the commission to be 59%. These figures provide a clear snapshot of the political landscape in Armenia following the vote.

The performance of the ruling “Civil Contract” party against the opposition highlights the current political dynamics, setting the stage for the formation of the next legislative body. The detailed results underscore the electorate’s participation in determining the country’s immediate political direction.
