On August 4, at approximately 7:55 PM, firefighters from PAGD were dispatched to Aitvaro street in Mažeikiai. The initial report indicated that two children were struggling in the Venta river at the beach area. Upon the arrival of the rescue team, it was reported that other nearby vacationers had already retrieved the children from the water.
The two children were found to be conscious but appeared distressed. Emergency medical personnel subsequently took custody of the children for further assessment and care.
