“Via Lietuva” will renew a series of drivers-related objects: here are the places where the works will take place

Ten recreation areas across Lithuania are scheduled for renewal in the near future. According to Viktoriya Petretiene, head of the Via Lithuania Projects Group, these facilities are crucial components of the travel infrastructure. She noted that well-maintained recreation areas guarantee high-quality rest opportunities for drivers, facilitate clear traffic organization, and enhance comfort for all users of both light and heavy transport.

The planned improvements address shortcomings in existing facilities. For instance, a recreation area in the Raseiniai district, Ariogala municipality, previously lacked adequate rest amenities, and its road surface exhibited significant wear and damage. The comprehensive upgrades aim to meet contemporary traveler expectations across the country’s major routes.

Beyond the physical reconstruction of these vital areas, promotional activities are also planned. Bus vehicles adorned with artwork by M. Kosinka will tour Lithuanian streets, serving as a traveling gallery to engage the public with the arts.

These projects are part of a broader effort to enhance the overall experience of using the national road network. By upgrading these key via areas, authorities intend to improve safety, efficiency, and the general quality of travel throughout Lithuania’s diverse landscape.
