According to a recent report, the risks present within the digital sphere are not diminishing, a trend that is compounded by the increasing capability of artificial intelligence to strengthen these vulnerabilities. Despite these technological advancements, RRT Chairwoman Jūratė Šovienė emphasized that cultivating a safer online environment depends critically on sustained cooperation among various institutions, online platforms, and the general public, coupled with growing public awareness. The findings detailed in the report highlight significant activity concerning content moderation.
Upon reviewing incoming reports, RRT determined that 648 cases, representing 47% of all submissions, were substantiated, allowing authorities to take action against potentially harmful or prohibited content. Of these findings, 179 confirmed reports were officially transmitted to international internet service providers, website owners, and social network administrators from multiple countries. RRT subsequently issued an appeal to these managing entities, urging them to take immediate steps to remove any prohibited content hosted on the websites or platforms under their control.
This data underscores the ongoing need for vigilance across the digital ecosystem. The comprehensive nature of these reports suggests that while the challenges posed by digital risks remain substantial, a coordinated effort involving regulatory bodies and platform operators is essential for maintaining online safety.
