Musician, actor, photographer, and producer Andrius Mamontovas recently participated in the lifestyle program “Pokalbiai prie jūros. Atostogų ritmu” on the “Lietuvos rytas” TV channel. During the segment, hosted by Justė Zinkevičiūtė in Palanga, Mamontovas discussed his evolving creative process.
Mamontovas reflected on how maturity has altered his artistic approach. He stated that as one ages, the ability to explain the rationale behind one’s creative decisions often becomes unnecessary. He noted that while the method of creation shifts with time, the underlying reasons for selecting a new song remain a key element of his work.
When asked about his connection to the Lithuanian coast, the artist admitted that his visits to Palanga are frequently for professional obligations rather than relaxation. Nevertheless, the location continues to evoke strong sentimental memories. He recalled formative times spent there, noting, “There are many sentiments in Palanga.
I used to come here with my parents when I was a child, and in my teenage years – with my parents.”
The interview provided insight into the balance between professional commitment and personal nostalgia that defines his relationship with the Baltic Sea region. His comments highlighted that while his career demands frequent travel and work, the cultural resonance of Palanga remains a significant touchstone in his personal history and artistic inspiration.
