Lithuanian medical professionals recently participated in an international humanitarian mission, demonstrating a capacity to provide aid in challenging environments. According to Skirmantas Krunkaitis, Deputy Minister of Health, the deployment highlighted the professionalism and dedication of the participating lithuanian team, earning both local trust and international recognition. The specialized team comprised 20 members.
This contingent included 15 doctors drawn from various Lithuanian healthcare institutions, supported by five logistics specialists from the Fire and Rescue Service. The primary area of operation was the La Guairos region, located near Caracas. During their tenure, the specialists successfully established and equipped a functional field hospital utilizing their own resources.
Over a period of 12 days, the medical team provided care to an estimated 230 patients. The successful execution of the mission underscored the commitment of the Lithuanian personnel to international humanitarian efforts. Deputy Minister Krunkaitis stated that the team represented Lithuania honorably on the global stage.
The deployment showcased the combined expertise of Lithuanian medical and logistical services, allowing them to rapidly mobilize resources and deliver essential healthcare services to the affected community.
