E. Gaigalas, J. Sadauskienės father, has been taken to court

A pre-trial investigation concerning the murder of paramedic Mantas Sadauskas, which occurred in April, took place on Wednesday in Biržai. The proceedings involved the local court and focused on E. Gaigalas, a resident of the area who is employed as a doctor and serves as the head of the Reanimation – Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.

During the session, the prosecutor formally requested that the man be held in custody for a period of two months. The proceedings were held behind closed doors, with the prosecutor, the defendant’s legal counsel, and the accused present. Reports indicated that the individual was transported into the court premises under police escort and was observed being led while handcuffed, though the restraints were subsequently removed within the courtroom.

Throughout the investigation, E. Gaigalas was reportedly present, where he was observed with his hands covering his head. When questioned by journalists regarding suspicions or evidence, including drugs found on his person, he did not provide answers.

The investigation centers on the serious allegations surrounding the death of Mantas Sadauskas. The participation of the prosecutor and the formal request for detention highlight the gravity of the charges being addressed in the court concerning Gaigalas.
