Despite the retreat of Cyclone Floora, atmospheric conditions remain turbulent in the southern parts of the region, according to synoptist E. Latvėnaitė. A significant change is anticipated starting Wednesday, when the anticiclone named Olaf is projected to move south and south-west toward the Baltic region and Lithuania.
This shift is expected to usher in air that is warmer, calmer, and drier from the south. However, the forecast for Wednesday indicates the potential for light drizzle. This is attributed to a warm atmospheric front situated north of Lithuania, which may briefly cover the area, leading to isolated, short showers under dark cloud cover.
A transition toward clearer weather is predicted for the following days. According to Latvėnaitė, Thursday and Friday night should see no rain, with conditions becoming drier, accompanied by light winds and increased warmth. The pattern is expected to change again on Friday.
A cyclone’s valley, characterized by a cold front and a converging front, is forecast to traverse the Baltic Sea from the Scandinavian side, which could result in renewed periods of short, scattered showers.
