This year’s tournament marks a significant expansion compared to its early years, demonstrating considerable growth in both the caliber of play and participant numbers, escalating from just 6 teams in its inaugural year to over 100 teams currently. A notable addition to the “Buzelis Cup” festival this year was the hosting of a conference.
This event provided both participants and spectators a unique gathering point for several prominent Lithuanian basketball figures, including Matas Buzelis, Jonas Valančius, Robertas Javtokas, and Mindaugas Kuzminskas. R. Skaisgirys highlighted the significance of the “Buzelis Cup’26” for the advancement of Lithuanian basketball, stating the necessity of remaining competitive on a global level.
