A Lithuanian national team player who played for the Geneva-based Servette club in Switzerland this season was named the league’s best rookie. Despite initial hopes of being selected in the first round, Ignatavičius stated that he remains optimistic regarding his professional opportunities. The 18-year-old noted that while he had anticipated being called up immediately, he remains positive regardless of the selection timing.
“I really thought that the first day I could be called up, but you never know – if the third or something else, everything can change,” he stated. He added that while he did not receive a call-up, he was not disappointed. Ignatavičius expressed satisfaction with his current placement, particularly after the Florida team secured its first call-up of the year.
“Now that Florida picked up with their first call, which they had this year, I’m really happy and can’t be better than in Florida, Miami Beach and so on. It’s definitely good,” he told the Lithuanian Ice Hockey Federation. Overall, the player conveyed a positive outlook on his career progression.
He indicated that the process of being called up, whether in the first round or subsequent rounds, involves variables, but his current situation in Florida is viewed as a significant positive development.
