The last day four more residents of Vilnius County complained to the police that they were scammed by con artists

The Vilnius County Police Department has reported multiple instances of alleged fraud involving the impersonation of bank employees and police officers in recent weeks. The incidents, reported on July 14, highlight a pattern of deception targeting residents. One woman, born in 1958, reported that on July 9, she was visited at her home by unknown individuals.

These persons allegedly pretended to be bank employees and police officers, leading to the victim being tricked into handing over 2,800 euros to an unknown man who arrived during the encounter. Further reports detail similar scams occurring on July 13. A second woman, born in 1956, reported that at 9:35 AM, she was approached at home by unknown Russian-speaking individuals who claimed to be bank employees and police officers.

These individuals allegedly defrauded her of 1,800 euros, which was given to an unknown man. On the same day, a third woman, born in 1952, reported a separate incident. She stated that at 1:00 PM, she was called to her home by unknown persons posing as bank employees and police officers.

Through deception, she reportedly surrendered 2,800 euros to an unknown man. The police department continues to investigate these incidents, emphasizing that residents should exercise caution when approached by unfamiliar individuals claiming to represent financial institutions or law enforcement.
