The General Surgery Center at RVUL spearheaded the introduction of this technology within the institution.
The availability of robotic surgery at RVUL commenced recently, specifically in December 2025. This marks the facility’s establishment as the third center in Lithuania to offer this advanced form of surgery. Prior to RVUL, the service was introduced at the Klaipėda University Hospital and the Vilnius University Hospital of the Santaros Clinics.
Prof. Dr. Samalavičius emphasized that the pioneering efforts at RVUL are focused on leading development rather than simply replicating existing achievements.
