War in Ukraine. The problems in Russia are only growing: revealed the real scale of fuel shortage

Analysts at the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (ISW) suggest that the kremlin is encountering difficulty adjusting its official narrative in response to recent statements made by Donald Trump. On July 9, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov addressed the situation, asserting that the United States has historically provided military aid to Ukraine. This commentary appeared to aim at diminishing the perceived importance of Trump’s decision to grant Ukraine the capability to produce the Patriot missile system.

Peskov characterized Trump’s recent remarks as a “misunderstanding” rather than an escalation of tensions. Peskov also provided clarification regarding communications between Trump and Russian leadership. He noted that on July 8, Trump had not contacted Russian President Vladimir Putin, while simultaneously confirming that Putin remains open to discussions with Trump.

Separately, reports indicate that at a recent NATO summit, Ukraine successfully garnered US support. During the summit proceedings, speakers included representatives from Lithuania and Russia’s Foreign Minister, contributing to the diplomatic discourse surrounding international security alliances.
