A company in partnership with the national development bank, ILTE, has secured a loan agreement totaling 27 million euros. This funding is designated for the development of a biogas power plant. The facility is designed to generate biogas by processing various organic waste streams, including animal manure, slurry, and agricultural residues such as hay and corn silage.
The proposed biodigestion project is slated for implementation in Daugydai village and will proceed in two distinct phases. The initial stage is projected to yield an annual biogas production of 13.60 million cubic meters. Following the successful completion of the first phase, the second stage will be added.
This expansion will incorporate additional raw material inputs, thereby increasing the overall biogas output capacity to 18.25 million cubic meters per year. The establishment of this biogas power plant aims to convert local waste into a renewable energy source. The technology utilizes anaerobic digestion to break down organic matter, creating biogas, which can then be used to generate power.
The phased development approach allows for scalability and measured integration of the facility into the local energy infrastructure.
